Cofounder of Alstom True Colours (LGBTQ+ ERG)
Hi! You are just asking the right person! I am one of the co-founders of our LGBTQ ERG at Alstom North America ! And this subject just hypes me up ! We have been celebrating Pride online since the pandemic! When nobody was allowed to go outside, my BFF Craig Molnar and I came up with a virtual Pride March that we called the Rainbow Train! The first edition in 2020 had like 180 participants, last year we went Global (included other regions and all countries were we are represented) and we were around 1200 participants. We walked all together the equivalent of 3.5 times around the world! We also had 2 live events this year, one for IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) and another one for coming out day. Our work is to make our LGBTQ employees feel safe at work and just bring their own selves and not code switch at all, we know how exhausting that is! Being visible and safe has created an environment where we all are accepting of others and at ease. We encourage being open and ask questions. We are planning our activities for 2024 and want to continue the good work! If you are a member of the Alphabet Mafia, you are welcome at Alstom!
