What is the work-life balance like in your role?

The work life balance in my role is unique! Our team is very committed to meeting customer needs, while keeping the team's personal lives in perspective. Ensuring the trains are properly prepared for time on the track on the Northeast Corridor can be demanding. The team has worked hard to balance the workload across the team, to ensure no single person has a schedule that's more demanding than the rest. With high priority issues, travel can be required, which does impact the balance occasionally. Depending on the circumstances, it can be for an extended timeframe. Priorities and timeframes for travel are always discussed between the team members and management to see if it aligns with the availability of the team. The services team needs to be available to the customer at any time. To keep the balance of life and work with this demand from the customer, comparable flexibility is discussed when possible. In all situations, open communication with management is key. If the balance doesn't fit your lifestyle or needs, there is always a solution to be discussed.
