As a current employee of Alstom, any advice on transferring to another field, internally?

That's a great question! Not surprisingly, always check ALPS, and I recommend looking at any "sister sites" -- for instance, I work in Pittsburgh, but it would be prudent to still look at open positions in Rochester as it's not too far away, and I could potentially still work from Pittsburgh but make trips to Rochester occasionally.
Are you part of any employee resource groups like AWE or ABLE? Networking events help you meet people you don't normally work with and could talk to them about what they do and any potential future opportunities. AWE has host 4 Career Opportunities Sessions and will likely hold more in the future. We also have the virtual career fairs I'm sure you get emails for.
You can also ask your HR rep for a mentor and ask them about shadowing someone in a field you're interested in.
Hope this helps! Good luck to you!
