Hello! Good question! I would say mentally it's to be curious, and eager to learn! Physically, not that demanding, but if your job is in the field, to do some tests on the vehicle as an example, then it can get tiresome, but still very motivating!

Great question! From my experience at Alstom, the best way to prepare is to come in curious and open. Take a little time to learn about our values, because they really guide how we work together. Physically, make sure you’re set up for success with a good routine and an organized workspace. I would say that the most important is to give yourself time to settle in, ask questions, and enjoy the journey :)

Thank you for your input Melanie, and your added thoughts Pierluc. Should I do any added studying though? Like on basic engineering concepts?

No added studying required, but maybe try to read about rail solutions in different cities and bring your questions to your colleagues, they have a lot of experience and they can make the learning curve easier to address!

Ok. Is there a specific place on the Alstom website where I can find more information, or will it be general research through the news as well as the Alstom website?

For those at Ontario Tech, here you have more details about the specific courses that the railway specialization offers : Specializations | Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and keep in mind that you can even take a course even if you are not part of the railway specialization ;)
